BioZach Berkman is a producer, songwriter, and performer from Brooklyn, NY. Born and raised in Peoria, IL, Berkman moved to Chicago during high school where he began writing songs and playing his first shows. In 2004, he moved to New York to study at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where he majored in recorded music and journalism. Berkman worked for XM Satellite Radio's live recording division Effanel Productions, recording live performances for radio and video broadcast both in the studios at Jazz at Lincoln Center and at festivals around the country. While at NYU, he began working and playing with the band The District, producing their albums Last Call and Wellfleet. Working extensively with the artist Ron Pope, Berkman helped shape several albums and countless songs as a producer and writer including the song 'A Drop in the Ocean' which to date has sold over a half million copies and has over 50 million plays on Youtube. In 2009, he was a contestant on the MTV reality series, P. Diddy's Starmaker where he first performed on the national stage. Since then, his music has been featured on The Voice, Beauty and the Beast, Pretty Little Liars, Switched at Birth, Make It or Break it, 90210, and Degrassi. His last two solo albums, Reckless (2012) and The Valley (2011), debuted in the top 40 of the iTunes singer/songwriter charts. He has spent the last two years touring extensively in North America and Europe and can probably be seen near you soon. Currently, he is working on a number of EP's, a new full-length album, and just finished a new album with The District entitled Through The Dark all to be released in the next six months.
